In Kalyan, a deeply saddening incident has surfaced where a 14-year-old boy spent four days inside his home with his deceased mother. The situation was discovered when a foul odor started emanating from the apartment. Neighbors, noticing the smell, opened the door to find the boy sitting next to his mother’s lifeless body. The Khadakpada police station has recorded the incident.
The boy, identified as Alwin Daniel, is a special child, which is why he didn’t understand the situation and stayed by his mother’s side for four days. According to the police, a 44-year-old woman named Sylvia Daniel died in her flat in a residential complex within the jurisdiction of Khadakpada police station. The neighbors reported a foul smell coming from the building, which led to the discovery.
On Wednesday, due to the persistent foul smell from the flat, the society’s security guard and the neighbors went to inquire. When they knocked on the door, the boy opened it and the odor intensified. Upon entering, they found the woman dead. Shocked by the sight, they immediately informed the Khadakpada police. The police promptly arrived at the scene and found Sylvia Daniel’s body in the flat.
The police have noted that Alwin Daniel is a special child, and his mother, Sylvia Daniel, died from an illness. There is no suspicion of foul play. After the boy’s statement, the police have registered a case of accidental death. The boy is reported to have mental challenges. The police stated that the cause of death would be confirmed through the post-mortem report.
