The Sinhagad Road is super important as it links Khadakwasla, Dhayari, Vadgaon Budruk, Hingane, Narhe, Ambegaon, Budruk, and Anandnagar to the city center. It’s the main road that takes you to popular spots like Panshet, Varasgaon, Khadakwasla Dam, and Sinhagad Fort. People are eagerly waiting for the first part of the flyover to open.

Pune Municipal Corporation is building two flyovers on Sinhagad Road—one from Vitthalwadi to Rajaram Bridge and the other from Vithalwadi to Funtime Multiplex. Officials say the Vitthalwadi-Rajaram Bridge Flyover might be open to everyone this month. Ajay Wayse, executive engineer at PMC, mentioned, “We are aiming to open the completed 50-meter-long Rajaram Bridge-Vithalwadi flyover section with two lanes in the second week of August once the tar work is completed.”

After a decade of anticipation, the Late Vitthalrao Tupe Auditorium in Hadapsar is all set for its grand opening. Virendra Kelkar, executive engineer at PMC Bhavan Department, mentioned, “The Hadapsar auditorium is set to be opened in September.” The civic body aims to conduct the foundation stone laying event for the Y-shaped flyover and grade separator to address the traffic issues on Pune-Ahmednagar Road at Shastrinagar Chowk and begin the flyover construction before the election regulations are enforced.

The Maha-Metro is all set to inaugurate the Civil Court-Swargate underground stretch and unveil the cable-stayed pedestrian bridge. They also plan to lay the foundation stone for the 5.4-km Swargate-Katraj underground project once it receives approval from the Centre.

“We were hoping for the Cabinet approval at Friday’s meeting, but it didn’t happen. However, it will be approved before the state assembly elections. We have completed the tendering processes and are awaiting the Centre’s approval to commence the work soon,” stated a metro official.

A senior Maha-Metro official mentioned, “The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will inspect the Civil Court-Swargate underground project in September, and we aim to open the stretch before the implementation of the poll code.”

Maha-Metro has finalized plans for two cable-stayed foot overbridges (FOBs) to connect Chhatrapati Sambhaji Garden and Deccan Gymkhana stations along the Mutha riverfront. One will connect Sambhaji Garden near Omkareshwar Temple, and the other will link Baba Bhide Bridge to the area near Pulachiwadi.

The veena-shaped cable-stayed pedestrian bridge is scheduled to be inaugurated before the state assembly election, as mentioned by a metro official.
