A video featuring an AI-generated dance of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is taking social media by storm. Shared by Musk himself, the clip is captioned, “Haters will say this is AI generated,” and shows the duo dancing to the iconic Bee Gees hit, ‘Stayin’ Alive.’ The video has captivated the internet, but it’s unclear whether the footage is purely AI-generated or enhanced with AI effects.

This latest viral moment comes after Trump and Musk made headlines following their recent conversation ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election, set for November 5, 2024. Earlier this week, Trump participated in a two-hour interview with Musk on the latter’s social media platform, X, after technical difficulties delayed the event’s start by more than 40 minutes.

Musk, a vocal supporter of Trump, attributed the issues to a distributed denial-of-service attack, where a network is overwhelmed with traffic to disrupt service, though this claim has not been verified. Despite the glitches, Trump praised Musk for the high level of interest, with a counter on X showing up to 1.3 million people tuning in at various points during the conversation.

The technical hiccups echoed a similar event in May 2023 on X, when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis faced a chaotic start to his Republican presidential campaign launch due to platform glitches. At that time, Trump took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, to mock DeSantis, boasting, “My Red Button is bigger, better, stronger, and is working (TRUTH!)” and adding, “Yours does not.”

Ahead of Monday’s event, Musk had announced plans for system scaling tests to prevent such issues. X has not provided further details or evidence regarding the alleged cyberattack.

During their discussion, Musk and Trump exchanged mutual admiration. Musk praised Trump for his resilience following a recent attempt on his life, while Trump commended Musk for his firm stance against workers striking for better conditions. “You’re the greatest cutter,” Trump remarked, referencing Musk’s approach to labor disputes. “You walk in and say: ‘You want to quit?’ They go on strike… and you say: ‘That’s okay, you’re all gone.'”

Musk, currently the world’s wealthiest person, declared his support for Trump shortly after the assassination attempt, despite Trump’s opposition to government support for electric vehicle manufacturers like Tesla. Musk, who supported Democratic President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, has since shifted toward the right.

As the interview concluded, Musk emphasized the importance of choosing the right path at this critical juncture in history. “I think we’re at a fork in the road of destiny, of civilization,” Musk stated. “And I think you’re the right path,” he told Trump.

The conversation provided Trump with an unfiltered platform to voice his usual blend of grievances, personal attacks, and exaggerated or false claims.
