Candidates preparing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam gathered at Shastri Road in Pune on Tuesday night to protest. Their primary demand was the inclusion of 258 posts from the Agriculture Department in the upcoming MPSC Preliminary Examination, set for August 25th. Additionally, they requested that the exam be postponed until their demands are met.

The MPSC is scheduled to conduct the Preliminary Examination on August 25th. However, the candidates are urging the commission to incorporate the 258 Maharashtra Agricultural Service posts into this exam. The MPSC clarified that it received the government’s request for the Agricultural Service Examination 2024 only after the exam advertisement was published on December 29, 2023. Due to this timing, the agricultural posts could not be included in the current advertisement.

Despite the protest, MPSC officials stated that all preparations for the August 25th exam are finalized. They assured the candidates that the recruitment for the agricultural posts mentioned would be addressed in a future examination.
