Pune, July 7, 2026: The Sinhagad Fort will remain closed to visitors on July 8 following heavy rainfall in the fort area and the India Meteorological Department’s forecast of continued rain.
The Pune forest authorities said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of tourists, as the region witnessed intense rainfall on Monday and adverse weather conditions are expected to persist.
Officials added that a fresh notification regarding the reopening of the fort on July 9 will be issued after reviewing the weather situation and safety conditions on July 8.
