Blood donation camp held at INHS Kasturi in Lonavla

As a part of commemoration activities being observed under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Swarnim Vijay Varsh”, INHS Kasturi under the aegis of Station Lonavala organised a Blood Donation Camp on 24 Sep 21.

The camp was conducted in collaboration with Dept of BTD, AFMC Pune. The camp was conducted with the aim of collection of blood and donation to AFMC Pune for utilisation of needy and under privileged population at Pune.

The drive was primarily aimed to disseminate blood donation awareness and imparting a sense of compassion and empathy towards the Navy and the nation.

The camp was inaugurated by Cmde Arvind Rawal, Station Commander Lonavala in the presence of Surg Capt Athar Mohd, CO INHS Kasturi.

The camp received an overwhelming response from entire station Lonavala, wherein Service personnel, families and defence civilian participated and donated blood towards this noble cause. Total 212 personnel donated the blood in this camp.

The entire blood donation camp activity was conducted while adhering to COVID-19 protocols. This mass blood donation drive would go a long way towards building a sense of humanity and compassion among the population of station Lonavla.
