Pune: In a tragic incident on the morning of October 9, 2024, a young woman, Aarti Suresh Manwane (23), lost her life after being hit by a speeding cement mixer while attempting to cross Karve Road in Kothrud. The accident occurred near the Kothrud bus stand around 9 a.m.

Aarti, originally from Amravati and residing at Erande Hostel in Bhelke Nagar, Kothrud, was trying to cross the road by climbing over a large divider that runs from Karve statue to Dahanukar Colony. As she crossed in front of the Sutar bus stop, the cement mixer, approaching at high speed from Dahanukar Colony, struck her.
