Pune News: Fire Incident Disrupts Power Supply Of Kalas, Porwal Road, Dhanori
Pune, June 17, 2026: A fire that broke out in the vicinity of Hazrat Pathanshah Baba Dargah in Kalasgaon caused extensive damage to electricity infrastructure, leading to power outages in several parts of the city.
The disruption has affected residents in Kalas, Shantinagar, Phulenagar, Yerawada, Dhanori, Porwal Road, Vishrantwadi, Kalyaninagar, Sanjay Park, Viman Nagar and Dighi, causing inconvenience to thousands of consumers.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Suhas Tingre immediately contacted the concerned officials and visited the site to assess the situation. During the inspection, Additional Executive Engineer Kenekar and Assistant Engineers Gerde, Sheikh, Deshmukh and Lagad reviewed the extent of the damage and discussed measures required to restore the electricity supply.
MSEDCL (MahaVitaran) teams have launched repair work on a war footing, and efforts are underway to restore normal power supply in the affected areas at the earliest, officials said.
Citizens have been urged to remain patient and contact the MahaVitaran helpline if necessary for assistance and updates regarding the restoration work.
