In a tragic incident at the Nashik Artillery Center, two Agniveers lost their lives following an explosion during a routine training session. The accident occurred during a live-fire artillery exercise.

The explosion, which happened while the soldiers were conducting artillery firing practice, inflicted critical injuries on both Agniveers. Despite efforts to save them, they succumbed to their injuries. The incident has plunged the entire artillery center into mourning, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.

The Agnipath Scheme, introduced by the Government of India, offers short-term military employment opportunities to young men and women aspiring to serve in the armed forces. Both victims were part of a group of recruits who had recently joined the Nashik Artillery Center under this initiative.
