In response to citizen requests for transparency, officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and project consultants held a presentation on Friday to discuss the upcoming Shastri Nagar flyover and grade separator project. The meeting, organized by MLA Sunil Tingre, was attended by PMC officials, consultants, and residents from Kalyani Nagar and surrounding areas.

During the session, residents raised concerns about traffic disruptions, pedestrian safety, and stormwater management during the three-year project. In response, PMC officials outlined several key actions to address these issues.

Key action points included the development of a comprehensive Pedestrian Management Plan and close coordination with traffic police to manage diversions during each of the five project phases. Additionally, PMC committed to updating the storm drain management plan to incorporate the flyover and grade separator, ensuring that waterlogging issues are avoided.

Local resident Drayson Dixon noted, “Citizens raised issues of traffic congestion and water management. The officials have promised to consult further and hold another meeting once solutions are determined.”

The project aims to improve traffic flow but will require careful planning and coordination with local authorities and residents during its execution.
