Priti Jain, a chartered accountant from Pune, has gained attention for using her credit card reward points to stay for three nights at a luxurious Marriott resort in Uttarakhand without paying a rupee. Jain accumulated 58,000 membership reward points by spending Rs 4 lakh on her American Express Platinum card. She then converted these points into Marriott Bonvoy points, Marriott International’s loyalty program currency, which can be used for hotel stays and other travel experiences.

Jain shared on social media that her stay was upgraded from a regular room to a premier room on the first day, and then to an executive suite for the next two days. She described the experience as “feeling like royalty,” noting that the suite’s regular rate was over Rs 90,000 per night.

Her stay, booked for 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, included complimentary breakfasts, high-tea, and a Ganga aarti every evening on the resort’s riverside deck. The total value of the experience, with the suite upgrade and added amenities, amounted to nearly Rs 3 lakh.

Jain took advantage of a 30% bonus offer when transferring her AMEX points to Marriott Bonvoy, allowing her to use the 58,000 AMEX membership rewards to secure the Rs 1.5 lakh stay, which, after upgrades, was valued at Rs 3 lakh. She described the deal as “incredible.”
