In a stunning display of light and devotion, Ayodhya’s Deepotsav 2024 broke two Guinness World Records on October 30, illuminating the banks of the Saryu River with over 2.5 million diyas and hosting the largest-ever gathering for aarti. The celebrations drew thousands to the holy city, creating an ethereal atmosphere that embodied Diwali’s spirit of triumph of light over darkness.
Historic Achievements:
• Two Guinness World Records: The Deepotsav set records for the largest number of diyas lit simultaneously and the largest congregation performing an aarti, both verified by Guinness World Records officials.
• Participation & Spectacle: Over 1,121 Dharmacharyas performed the aarti on the banks of the Saryu, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participating in the sacred ceremony. The diyas stretched across the riverbank, casting a spellbinding glow over Ayodhya.
