The family of 24-year-old Harshita Brella has raised concerns that her tragic death may be linked to a dowry dispute, according to reports from ANI. Harshita, originally from Delhi and living in the UK with her husband, was found dead with her body concealed in the trunk of a car. Her older sister, Sonia Brella, revealed that Pankaj Lamba’s family had demanded additional dowry, despite the substantial amount already given during the wedding.

“Harshita married Pankaj Lamba on March 22 this year. We provided them with a significant dowry, but Pankaj was still dissatisfied and continued to demand more from us,” Sonia stated. Harshita’s body was discovered on November 14 in a vehicle that had been driven from Corby to East London, where it was parked on Brisbane Road in Ilford.

In light of these developments, police are actively seeking Pankaj Lamba for questioning regarding her death.

Sonia shared with ANI that they received a call from the local police station on November 15, informing them about Harshita’s tragic murder. The fact that both Harshita and Pankaj’s phones were off when they tried to reach them was quite concerning. Sonia mentioned that Pankaj’s family didn’t show any concern, leading them to suspect that Pankaj might have already informed his family about the incident.

Additionally, Sonia recalled an incident from August 29 when Harshita filed a complaint against Pankaj for abuse. Following the complaint, Pankaj’s family visited Sonia’s house demanding dowry. Sonia explained that her father had to sell the property to meet their demands, and by February, they had fulfilled the dowry request.

Sonia’s suspicion is that Pankaj has returned to India and is currently evading authorities. She expressed her belief that Pankaj has fled from the UK to India and is hiding somewhere there. Sonia also suggested that the UK police should inform the Indian authorities to arrest Pankaj if he is indeed in India.
