Virat Kohli Considering Test Retirement Before England Tour? BCCI Urges Reconsideration Amid Leadership Shift
Fans surprised as the cricket legend plans a major move abroad.
Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who has been spending increasing amounts of time in London, is reportedly planning to move there permanently with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their two children. This revelation was made by Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, during an interview.
According to Sharma, the transition is expected to happen soon, although he did not disclose an exact timeline. “Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon,” Sharma said.
Kohli, who reportedly owns property in the United Kingdom, has been frequently seen enjoying family time in London. His son Akaay was born there earlier this year on February 15.
Despite the news of the impending move, Rajkumar Sharma expressed confidence in Kohli’s cricketing future, stating that his form remains strong. He believes Kohli will continue to perform at the highest level for at least another five years, playing a key role in India’s cricketing ambitions, including the 2027 ODI World Cup.
“Virat is playing the best cricket of his career. He scored a century in the first Test against Australia, and I believe he will score two more centuries in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy,” Sharma remarked.
Kohli’s year has been packed with cricket and travel. After his son’s birth in London, he returned to India to represent Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and later joined the Indian team for various international series. His schedule has included stints in the USA, West Indies, and Australia.
In July, Kohli traveled to London, where he spent significant time with his family before returning for the home cricket season. The cricketer has also been vocal about his need for privacy, notably engaging in a heated exchange with Australian media when they tried to film him with his family at Melbourne Airport.
The news of Kohli’s plans to leave India has shocked fans, who see him as a pillar of Indian cricket. However, his coach has reassured supporters that Kohli remains committed to the game, with plenty of cricket left in him.
As one of the greatest cricketers of this generation, Kohli’s legacy on and off the field will continue to inspire millions, whether in India or abroad.
