RPF Returns Stolen Bag To Woman At Pune Railway Station

Pune, December 20, 2024 – The Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Pune Railway Station successfully recovered a stolen bag belonging to a woman, Ranjita Devi, who had arrived with her two young children on the Gorakhpur-Pune train at around 2:30 AM.

While waiting for her husband, who was working the night shift, Ranjita Devi sat down near the umbrella gate and laid out a blanket. She soon fell asleep, unaware that her bag, containing valuable items including a gold locket, a silver bangle, three rings, and important documents, had been stolen. 

Upon waking up and realizing her bag was missing, she immediately reported the incident to Anil Kumar Tiwari at Platform 1. Tiwari quickly alerted the RPF, and CCTV footage was reviewed. The images of the thief were sent to the on-duty RPF officers, Head Constable Dilip and Constable Vinod Meena, who successfully located the thief and recovered the stolen bag.

After thoroughly checking the bag and taking the woman’s statement, Anil Kumar Tiwari handed the recovered bag back to Ranjita Devi.

The woman expressed her gratitude to Anil Kumar Tiwari, the Station Manager, the RPF, and the Pune Division for their swift action in resolving the matter.
