The updated price is now ₹89 per kilogram, compared to the former rate of ₹87.90 per kg.

Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL) has raised the retail price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Pune by ₹1.10, effective from midnight on Saturday. The updated price is now ₹89 per kilogram, compared to the former rate of ₹87.90 per kg.

This adjustment in pricing is a result of various factors influencing the fuel market, including global energy trends, domestic production levels, and transportation costs.

The price hike is expected to impact commuters and businesses that rely on CNG-powered vehicles. Individuals may experience increased transportation costs, while businesses may need to adjust their operational budgets to accommodate the higher fuel expenses.

“MNGL has carefully made a decision keeping the interests of its valued customers in mind. The steep rise in imported natural gas prices and market-based gas supply posed a major challenge for MNGL. However, MNGL remains committed to providing value and sustainability to its customers. In order to balance operational efficiency and affordability for customers, MNGL has taken a portion of this increase on its own. As a result, the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Pune will see a marginal increase of ₹1.10 per kg, inclusive of excise duty and state VAT, which is about 15% of the total increase. This change demonstrates that MNGL prioritizes both customer interests and gas supply integrity,” informs MNGL.

MNGL emphasized that despite this rise, CNG continues to be considerably more affordable than both petrol and diesel. In Pune, CNG is more than 40% less expensive than petrol and over 20% cheaper than diesel, positioning it as a cost-effective and eco-friendly option for vehicle owners.

“MNGL’s focus remains on customer satisfaction, infrastructure quality, and environmental sustainability. Through continuous investment and strategic planning, MNGL is committed to providing cost-effective, reliable, and green energy solutions to the city of Pune. MNGL expresses its gratitude to its customers for their trust and understanding and strives to create a sustainable future in the face of global challenges,” adds MNGL.
