Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has sanctioned a ₹58.45 crore road concretisation project in the Tathawade and Wakad areas. The approval was granted by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh during a standing committee meeting held on Tuesday.

Under this project, key roads set for concretisation include the 24-metre-wide DP Road from Madhuban Hotel to Indira Road (1,420 metres long) and the 18-metre-wide DP Road from Silver Spoon Hotel to Indira Road (1,120 metres long). Additionally, the 18-metre-wide road connecting these routes to the Wakad limits will also be developed.

The initiative aims to enhance road infrastructure with safe footpaths, organized parking, and a proper rainwater drainage system. A road divider and a dedicated cycle track will be constructed to ease traffic congestion, improve transportation, and reduce fuel consumption for residents. The project is expected to be completed within 30 months.
