Solapur, February 6, 2025 – An FIR has been registered at the Sadar Bazar police station in Solapur following an attack on comedian Pranit More over an Instagram reel. The incident unfolded after More’s performance at a local bar, where he shared a joke involving actor Veer Pahariya, who is the grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister and former Solapur MP Sushilkumar Shinde.

According to police reports, a group of approximately 10 to 12 individuals, led by Tanveer Shaikh, confronted More after his show and assaulted him, resulting in injuries to his back, stomach, and head. More told The Indian Express that the reel, which mocked Pahariya, triggered the violent response. He also claimed that the Solapur police did not offer immediate assistance following the attack.

The officer in charge at Sadar Bazar, stated that the police received information about the incident on February 4. Although they asked More to register an FIR, he did not appear at the station, leading the police to file the case based on a complaint submitted by the bar manager. Tanveer Shaikh and his accomplices have been identified, and action is underway against them.
