Rahul Soreng, Son of Pulwama Martyr, Selected for Haryana Under-19 Cricket Team
The impact of the Pulwama terrorist attack on February 14, 2019, continues to resonate in India, marking a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by security personnel. It has been six years since the tragic terrorist attack, in which a terrorist Jaish-e-Mohammed drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying CRPF personnel, resulting in a catastrophic explosion that took the lives of 40 soldiers.
In the wake of this tragedy, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag stepped forward with a heartfelt initiative. He pledged to cover the educational expenses for the children of the martyred CRPF personnel, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the families affected by this loss.
Among those receiving support are Rahul Soreng and Arpit Singh, students at Sehwag International School in Jhajjar. Both young men are linked by their fathers’ sacrifices; Rahul’s father, Vijay Soreng, and Arpit’s father, Ram Vakil, were martyred in the attack. Rahul Soreng is now making headlines in the cricketing world, having recently been selected for the Haryana Under-19 team, a development that Virender Sehwag proudly shared.
