PUNE: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has denied reports of a Marathi exam paper leak in Jalna and Yavatmal during the ongoing Class 10 board exams. The board clarified on Friday that while some questions and answers were circulated on social media, they were not from the official question paper.

Board Secretary Devidas Kulal issued a statement explaining that an investigation at Badanapur Zilla Parishad High School in Jalna revealed that viral images were from a private publication and not the actual question paper. A similar review in Mahagaon Kothari, Yavatmal confirmed that no paper leak had occurred. Authorities have been directed to take action against those responsible for spreading misinformation.

Key Highlights:

  • No official paper leak occurred; social media rumors were based on private study material.
  • District authorities are conducting inquiries, and legal action has been recommended against those involved.
  • Five cases of malpractice were reported statewide on the first day of exams.
