Navi Mumbai Police have arrested a woman, her son, and two others for allegedly murdering her husband after he refused to grant a divorce. The incident came to light when an unidentified body was found on a bridge over the creek near Vahal village on February 23.

Police registered an accidental death case and started an investigation to identify the body. Around the same time, Reshma Sachin More and her son approached Ulwe police to report her husband, Sachin More, missing. When police showed her photos of the unidentified body, she confirmed it was her husband.

During questioning, Reshma’s responses were suspicious. Police examined her phone records, CCTV footage from her building, and the post-mortem report, which confirmed the cause of death as suffocation. A murder case was then registered on February 26.

Further investigation revealed that Sachin More allegedly harassed Reshma mentally and physically. She asked for a divorce, but he refused. Reshma then plotted to kill him with her son, friend Rohit Temkar, and auto driver Prathamesh Mhatre.

Rohit provided sedative pills, which were mixed into a bitter gourd juice and given to Sachin. Once he was drugged, they took him in an auto-rickshaw, pretending to take him to a hospital. They drove through several locations before stopping near Jasai.

There, Reshma strangled Sachin with a scarf. When they realized he was still breathing, she smothered him with her hands. Later, with help from her son and the auto driver, she threw the body off the bridge.

All four accused have been arrested.
