A shocking crime at Pune’s Swargate bus stand has sparked outrage across Maharashtra. In the early hours of Tuesday, a young woman was sexually assaulted inside a stationary bus. The accused, Dattatray Gade, fled after the incident but was later arrested from his hometown in Guna village, Shirur taluka, Pune district.  

Police launched a massive manhunt, deploying 13 teams and announcing a reward for his capture. After tracing his whereabouts, Gade was arrested and remanded to police custody.  

Meanwhile, the case has taken a new turn with Gade’s wife making a shocking claim. She stated that her husband had gone to the Gultekdi market to sell farm produce and stopped at the Swargate bus stand while returning home. She further alleged that whatever happened was consensual and expressed faith in the legal system, demanding a fair investigation.

However, medical reports of the victim have shocked investigators, confirming that she was assaulted twice. The police are now interrogating the accused and expect more revelations in the case.
