Mumbai: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain closed on Monday, March 31, 2025, in observance of Eid al-Fitr, giving investors an extended weekend.

According to official announcements, trading in equities, derivatives, and other segments will be suspended for the entire day.

However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will follow a partial closure. The morning session (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) will remain shut, while trading will resume in the evening from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 or 11:30 p.m.

The Eid al-Fitr holiday marks the second market closure in March, following Holi on March 14.

In April 2025, the stock markets will remain closed on:

  • April 10 – Mahavir Jayanti
  • April 14 – Ambedkar Jayanti
  • April 18 – Good Friday

Other major stock market holidays in 2025 include:

  • May 1 – Maharashtra Day
  • August 15 – Independence Day
  • August 27 – Ganesh Chaturthi
  • October 2 – Gandhi Jayanti/Dussehra
  • October 21 – Diwali

In total, the Indian stock markets will observe 14 holidays in 2025 due to festivals and other significant events.
