Pune News:Â PCMC Launches Industry Facilitation Cell to Streamline Investment and Business Processes
Pimpri, 8 April 2025 : In a bid to promote industrial and economic investment, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched the ‘Industry Facilitation Cell’. This cell aims to strengthen coordination between the municipal corporation and local industrialists, with a focus on resolving industrial issues, enhancing communication, and simplifying various procedures, informed Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate.
A special meeting was organized at the PCMC headquarters in Pimpri to introduce the newly operational Industry Facilitation Cell to the city’s industrialists. While guiding the participants, Additional Commissioner Khorate elaborated on the objectives of the initiative. Present on the occasion were Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor, Chief Information and Technology Officer and Head of Industry Facilitation Cell and CSR Nilkanth Poman, Zonal Officers Mukesh Kolap and Ajinkya Yele, IT Officer Deepak Pawar, Director of the Facilitation Cell Vijay Vavare, CSR Consultant Shrutika Mungi, and several prominent industrialists from the city.
During the session, Additional Commissioner Khorate presented the ‘Udyog Sarthi’ portal. He shared that under the state government’s ‘100 Days Action Plan’, an ‘Investment Promotion Action Programme’ is being implemented, of which this facilitation cell is a key component.
The cell’s primary goals include creating an investment-friendly environment, enhancing dialogue with local businesses and labor unions, and providing legal and administrative support to investors. The ‘Udyog Sarthi’ portal, along with the Facilitation Cell, aims to deliver various permits, approvals, and services in a simplified and digital manner.
Describing it as a modern version of a ‘single-window system’, Khorate emphasized how the portal would save time and increase transparency in administrative procedures.
Many industrialists shared their positive feedback during the meeting and welcomed PCMC’s initiative. They stated that the portal would help overcome challenges faced during business setup and expedite the availability of civic services. Some participants also offered valuable suggestions, which officials noted and assured to incorporate in future upgrades.
Concluding the session, Additional Commissioner Khorate thanked all the attending industrialists for their participation and constructive input.
