Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly Prince of Wales Museum), Kala Ghoda

This majestic museum in South Mumbai is set in beautifully landscaped gardens and features an extensive collection of ancient sculptures, miniature paintings, and artifacts. It also houses a dedicated children’s section with activity-based learning.
Timings: Open daily from 10.15 am to 6 pm. Last entry at 5.45 pm. Closed on Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, and May 1.

Water Kingdom, Bird Park, and Tic Tac Tot, Gorai

Though EsselWorld’s amusement park has closed, Water Kingdom continues to be one of Asia’s largest water parks with wave pools, water slides, and a rain dance zone. Adjacent to it are two new attractions:

  • Bird Park: A walk-through aviary with over 500 exotic birds.
  • Tic Tac Tot: An indoor play space designed for toddlers and preschoolers.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali

One of the few national parks situated within a major city, SGNP offers wildlife and tranquility in equal measure. Activities include toy train rides, lion and tiger safaris, boating at the lake, exploring the ancient Kanheri Caves, and cycling through scenic trails. Ideal for a full-day family picnic.

Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan & Zoo (Rani Baug), Byculla

Mumbai’s oldest zoological park, dating back to 1861, offers a look at a variety of animals including leopards, hippopotamuses, and the crowd-favorite—Humboldt penguins. The zoo is located within a large botanical garden that is perfect for a morning walk or picnic.

M2M Ferries to Alibag, Bhaucha Dhakka
