Bavdhan Gets Full-Fledged Police Station at LMD Chowk: Covers 9 Areas, Offers Passport Services, Cyber Cell & Verification Facilities
Pune: The residents of Bavdhan are celebrating a major milestone with the inauguration of a dedicated, full-fledged police station at Lane 2, near LMD Chowk. This much-anticipated facility is a result of persistent efforts by local citizens, senior citizens’ groups, and police authorities over the past three years.
The new Bavdhan Police Station will oversee law enforcement across nine key areas:
- Bavdhan BK (N.V.)
- Bhugaon
- Bhukum
- Pirangut
- Lavale
- Chande
- Nande
- Mahalunge (N.V.)
- Sus (N.V.)

Departments Now Operational at Bavdhan Police Station:
- Accountant / Women’s Section
- Surveillance Squad
- Summons / Warrant Section
- Passport / Character Verification Department
- Technical Analysis Department
- Incoming and Outgoing Register
- Officer-in-Charge Section
- Confidential Squad
- Application Branch
- Crime Disclosure Section
- Cyber Crime Unit
Citizen Services (Charter):
The police station will process a range of services for the public. Key services and timelines include:
- Permission for Public Gatherings – 3-day processing at the station; 7-day approval by the SDO/Tehsildar/DySP.
- NOC for Overstaying Foreign Nationals – 3-day processing; 7-day approval by Special Branch.
- NOC for Citizens Returning to India – 3-day processing; 7-day approval.
- Passport Verification NOC – 15-day processing; 21-day approval.
- Character Verification for Jobs – 15-day processing; 20-day approval.
- NOC for Petrol Pumps, Hotels, etc. – 15-day processing; 21-day approval.
- Weapon License NOC – 15-day processing; 21-day approval.
- Police Verification for Students/Job Seekers Going Abroad – 15-day processing; 30-day approval.
Future Expansion Plans:
A plot at Chandani Chowk has been allotted for the construction of an independent police station building. Once completed, the team will shift operations there.
Engagement with Senior Citizens:
SPI Vibhute held his first official interaction with senior citizens on May 3 in the police station’s parking area. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing appreciation and offering suggestions, which the police have committed to reviewing.

To maintain this engagement, regular meetings with senior citizens will now be held on the first Saturday of every month at 7:30 PM. The next meeting is scheduled for June 5.

During the inaugural meeting, police officials introduced a new PCPC mobile app designed specifically to assist senior citizens. Interested residents are encouraged to contact the station for guidance.
With a full-fledged post office, police station, and soon an MSEB distribution center, Bavdhan is fast emerging as a self-sufficient and well-connected suburb of Pune.
