Pune: 120 players to participate in first edition of PYC-Lohia Jain Malpani Swimming League 2025
Pune, May 26, 2025: A total 120 players will represent 6 teams in the First edition of PYC Lohia Jain Malpani Swimming League 2025 that will be organised by the PYC Hindu Gymkhana in its Swimming facilities from May 31, 2025 to June 1st, 2025. The Final will be played on Sunday, 1st June 2025.
Mr. Kumar Tamhane, President of PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Mr. Deepak Gadgil, Secretary of the PYC Hindu Gymkhana and Mr.Sarang Lagu, Joint Secretary of PYC Hindu Gymkhana said that this unique league which was formulated by its members. PYC Gymkhana is the only club in the city to offer its members eight different leagues one in cricket, one in badminton, one in basketball, one in chess, one in football, one in snooker, one in table tennis, one in tennis with a view of health and recreation of its members through sports. We have received an overwhelming response for first ever edition of PYC-Lohia Jain Malpani Swimming League 2025.
This will be the first year that the Lohia Jain Group and Malpani Properties has graciously sponsored this event. Shrinivas Chaphalkar(5900pts, Katakkar Sharks) emerged the most expensive player amongst 120 players in various age groups who will represent six teams. There will be one group of 6 teams and the event will be played in all play all round robin format. The winning team will receive a Trophy, informed Mr. Shirish Sathe, Secretary of Swimming Dept of PYC Hindu Gymkhana.
Mr. Nandan Dongre has been appointed as tournament director. In an auction 120 players were selected to represent six teams which included Belvalkar Belugas, Enpro Torpedoes, Fulcrum Dolphins, Katakkar Sharks, LJM Aqua Warriors, SC’s Aqua Titans.
A tournament committee comprising of Mr. Sarang Lagu, Mr.Abhishek Tamhane, Mr.Nandan Dongre has been formed for the smooth conduct of the event.
