A tragic tale of passion, betrayal, and escalating conflict ended in a horrifying act of violence in Induri village near Talegaon Dabhade. A 30-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly tying up and murdering her lover—also 30 years old—by repeatedly striking him with a cricket bat.

The deceased has been identified as Kamal Ramdayal Madhukar, a laborer and resident of Induri, originally from Chhattisgarh. Both Kamal and the accused woman were married and had been involved in an extramarital affair for the past four years. According to police sources, the relationship had grown increasingly volatile, marked by frequent arguments—primarily due to the woman’s desire to end the affair.

The turning point came on the night of June 12, around 9 PM, when Kamal is believed to have shown up at the woman’s home in an intoxicated state. A heated argument reportedly broke out between them, during which the woman allegedly tied his hands and legs. In a fit of rage, she picked up a cricket bat and brutally attacked him, inflicting severe injuries.

Kamal was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival. His sister later filed a formal complaint at Talegaon MIDC Police Station, prompting immediate police action. The woman was arrested shortly after and is now facing serious charges under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to punishment for murder.

Both individuals were laborers, and despite their separate families—Kamal leaves behind a wife and four children, while the accused woman has a husband and one daughter—they had continued their affair in secrecy for years. Police Sub-Inspector Relekar, who is leading the investigation, confirmed the sequence of events and said further inquiry is underway to determine all contributing factors.
