Pune: Fire Brigade Deployed Across Palkhi Routes To Ensure Warkari Safety During Ashadhi Wari 2025

In preparation for the massive influx of devotees participating in the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Fire Department has stationed fire personnel and vehicles at key points along the palkhi routes to ensure prompt response in case of emergencies such as fires or accidents.
With the arrival of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj palkhis in Pune, lakhs of Warkaris are walking toward Pandharpur. In keeping with its annual protocol, PMC’s Fire Brigade has intensified safety arrangements to support the uninterrupted movement of pilgrims.
A dedicated fire response team — consisting of one officer, six firemen, and a fire tender — has already been deployed in Alandi and will accompany the procession to Pandharpur. Additional vehicles from city fire stations have been stationed at critical locations for quick mobilization:
- Vishrantwadi Chowk – Vehicle from Yerwada Fire Station
- Sangam Bridge Area – Vehicle from Late Dayaram Rajguru Fire Station
- Khandojibaba Chowk – Vehicle from Erandwane Fire Station
- Bhawani Peth–Nana Peth – Vehicle from Fire Department HQ
- Gadital, Hadapsar – Vehicle from Hadapsar Fire Station
