Pune: Mangala Khadilkar to be honored with Late Prakash Paigude Memorial Award
Pune, June 23, 2025: The Srujan Foundation, Pune, has announced that they will honour renowned anchor and writer Mangala Khadilkar with the Late Prakash Paigude Memorial Award. This is the second year of the award, and it will be presented to her during the 14th Jyotsna Bhole Swarotsav 2025, scheduled to take place on June 26 and 27 at Tilak Smarak Mandir, Tilak Road, Pune.
The award, instituted in memory of Late Prakash Paigude, comprises a shawl, bouquet, citation, and a cash prize of Rs. 10,001. Adhish Paigude, Chief Organizer of the festival, announced that Mangala Khadilkar will be honored with this prestigious award for her contributions. Last year, renowned violinist Pt. Atul Kumar Upadhye was honored with the same award.
The 14th Jyotsna Bhole Swarotsav, a two-day festival celebrating classical and semi-classical music, will feature performances by renowned artists. On the first day, June 26, the festival will begin with an inaugural ceremony, followed by a jugalbandi performance by S. Akash (flute) and Yadnesh Raikar (violin). The day will conclude with a performance by veteran vocalist Pt. Venkatesh Kumar.
On the second day, June 27, the program ‘Parampara’ will showcase three gharanas of classical music, featuring Vidushi Kalapini Komkali, Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, and Pt. Shounak Abhisheki. Mangala Khadilkar will be the compere for both days.
Additionally, the Srujan Foundation will award scholarships to two students, Akash Naik and Swapnil Suryavanshi, who are pursuing full-time classical music education. The scholarship amount is Rs. 11,000 per head. The scholarships will be presented during the festival. The festival aims to pay tribute to the legendary vocalist Vidushi Jyotsna Bhole and will feature a range of classical and semi-classical music performances.
