MPSC Makes Aadhaar-Based KYC Mandatory From July 15 To Prevent Dummy Candidates
Pune, June 23, 2025: In a major move to curb the rising issue of dummy candidates and exam-related fraud, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced that Aadhaar-based KYC (Know Your Customer) verification will be mandatory for all aspirants applying for MPSC exams, starting July 15.
Candidates will need to complete the KYC process through the MPSC’s online application system before submitting their exam forms. Applications without successful KYC verification will be rejected. While aspirants can initiate the process any time before the deadline, the commission has urged candidates to complete it at the earliest to avoid last-minute issues.
Since March 2017, MPSC has permitted Aadhaar number entry for identity verification. However, with the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) now allowing voluntary Aadhaar-based authentication in recruitment processes, the MPSC has tightened its verification procedures. Under the new rule, the mobile number provided must be the one linked to the candidate’s Aadhaar.
Once verified, each candidate will be allowed only one active account on the MPSC system—any multiple or duplicate accounts will be automatically deactivated.
The new system ensures Aadhaar-based authentication both during application and at the exam center, enhancing transparency and integrity.
With this new double-verification mechanism, MPSC hopes to boost trust in the recruitment process and ensure genuine participation in all future examinations.
