Woman Working at Deloitte Sends 20+ Bomb Threats, Claims She Crashed a Plane — The Reason Will Shock You
Senior consultant’s twisted revenge plot sparks panic across multiple states and institutions
In a shocking case of obsession-fueled deception, a woman employed at a prominent multinational firm in Chennai has been arrested for sending over 20 bomb threat emails across the country, all in an alleged attempt to frame a man she loved but couldn’t be with.
Reni Joshilda, a robotics engineer and senior consultant at the global firm Deloitte, was apprehended by the Cyber Crime branch of Ahmedabad Police. According to authorities, her actions were driven by a one-sided romantic fixation on Divij Prabhakar, a man who did not reciprocate her feelings. In a calculated move, she sought to implicate him by fabricating multiple terror threats under his name.
Joshilda even created fake email IDs in the name of Divij Prabhakar and sent threatening messages. One of the emails, dated 3 June 2025, was sent to Geneva Liberal School from the address [email protected]. It read: “Police is sleeping. They cannot do anything. They don’t know how to investigate properly. Only if children die, police will become active. We are going to blast the bomb in your school to bring to police attention about the rapist who raped the girl in Lemon Tree Hotel in Hyderabad in 2023.”
Among her most alarming claims was one referencing a fictional Air India crash on June 12, in which she falsely declared that a plane had crashed into Ahmedabad’s BJ Medical College. “We know the police would have thought that the plane crash was a hoax and ignored it. Well done to our pilot. Now you know we are not playing,” read one of the emails, sent to college authorities. Another threat warned, “Bomb successfully planted in Narendra Modi Stadium. Save the stadium if you can.”
Joshilda created several fake email IDs, some under Prabhakar’s name, to circulate these messages. The threats were deliberately timed around sensitive religious occasions and high-profile VIP visits, causing widespread alarm and prompting large-scale security responses in at least 12 Indian states.
Sharad Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), stated that 13 threats have been officially reported so far. The scale of the disruption, involving locations such as the Narendra Modi Stadium, BJ Medical College, and several schools suggests the extent to which Joshilda went to exact personal revenge.
This case has raised serious concerns about misuse of digital tools and the psychological motivations behind such high-stakes cybercrime. Authorities are now investigating further into her background, digital trail, and mental health condition. For now, Reni Joshilda remains in custody, and charges under cybercrime and public safety laws are being pursued.
