Pune,August11 : Hockey Maharashtra Junior team was defeated in the quarterfinals of the 15th Hockey India Junior Women’s National Championship 2025 held in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

In the last eight, Hockey Maharashtra suffered a shock 1-2 defeat against Hockey Uttar Pradesh.

, Sallu Pukhrambaman (36th minute) opened the scoring for Uttar Pradesh Hockey Team by scoring a goal from a penalty corner. Later, Diksha Shinde (45 minutes) scored a field goal to give Hockey Maharashtra a draw (1-1). Later, Rashmi Patel (55 minutes) scored a goal from a penalty corner to give Hockey Uttar Pradesh the lead. That lead proved decisive.

Earlier, in Group D, Hockey Maharashtra took a 2-0 lead and defeated Hockey Association of Odisha 2-1. Captain Tanushree Kadu opened the scoring (16 minutes) while Diksha Shinde (27 minutes) scored the second goal to take the lead to 2-0 at half-time. Hockey Association of Odisha’s Barwa Deepika (54 minutes) reduced the lead. However, it did not make any difference in the final decision. All the goals were field goals.

Later, Hockey Maharashtra won 5-1 against Hockey Andhra Pradesh in Group D. Sanjana Khetawat (13 minutes), followed by Sanika Mane (17 minutes) and Sanjana Raekwar (22 minutes) gave Hockey Maharashtra a big lead of 3-0 at the break.

In the opening match, Andhra Pradesh took a 3-1 lead through Ankita Bommu (8 minutes). However, Hockey Maharashtra then scored two more goals through Sanjana Raekwar (52 minutes) and Sanika Mane (57 minutes) to win 5-1.

Hockey Maharashtra entered the quarterfinals with two wins (6 points).
