Maharashtra Braces for Four Days of Heavy Rain, Orange Alert Issued in Select Districts Â
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several parts of Maharashtra, predicting intense showers over the next four days. The Konkan, Goa, and Vidarbha regions are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
The ghat regions of Pune, Satara, and Kolhapur in Madhya Maharashtra are also expected to witness thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. As per the IMD forecast, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Amravati, and Chandrapur districts are under an Orange Alert due to the likelihood of extremely heavy rain today and tomorrow.
The Marathwada region, along with other districts, may see light to moderate rainfall with thunder and gusty winds, prompting a Yellow Alert in these areas. The weather department also reported a significant drop in maximum and minimum temperatures due to continuous rainfall in parts of Vidarbha and Konkan over the last 24 hours.
The IMD has warned that rain intensity will peak in Konkan-Goa over the next few days, potentially disrupting transport and daily life. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea due to strong winds and rough conditions.
Residents in alert zones are urged to take necessary precautions, monitor weather updates, and stay prepared for possible waterlogging, landslides, and travel disruptions.
