Pune, August 22, 2025: A joint committee comprising police, municipal corporation officials, state excise department, and district administration will now monitor pubs and restaurants in Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park, and Mundhwa areas.

The committee will ensure that these establishments adhere to prescribed operating hours and that the music played inside does not cause disturbance to nearby residents by exceeding permissible noise limits.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar recently issued an order regarding the formation of this committee. It will be chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Zone IV, while the Deputy Commissioner of the Traffic Department will serve as the vice-chairperson. Representatives from the State Excise Department, Pune Municipal Corporation, District Collector’s office, and local citizens will also be part of the panel.

The initiative aims to regulate the functioning of pubs and restaurants while providing a long-term, sustainable solution to noise-related grievances raised by residents.
