Pune, June 10: A bomb threat email sent to the official email ID of the Pune Mayor’s Office triggered a security alert on Wednesday, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement agencies.

According to the email, threats were allegedly made against the Pune Mayor’s Office, several locations in Nagpur, and the RSS headquarters. The message reportedly mentioned an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack and referred to specific dates and timings, raising concerns among authorities.

Following the receipt of the threatening email, Pune Police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and the Cyber Crime Cell launched a coordinated investigation. Security agencies are working to verify the authenticity of the threat and identify the individual or group responsible for sending the email.

Officials are also tracing the origin of the email to determine whether it is a genuine threat or a hoax. As a precautionary measure, security has been tightened at the locations mentioned in the email.

Authorities have clarified that no suspicious objects have been found so far. However, surveillance and security checks have been intensified while the investigation remains underway.
