CCTV footage captures a shocking act where a drainage cover was broken and left open, sparking anger and safety concerns among locals.
While some people in society extend a helping hand, there are always a few miscreants who endanger others’ lives with reckless actions. One such shocking video has now come to light.
In Andheri West’s Aram Nagar area, a CCTV camera captured disturbing footage late at night. An autorickshaw driver parked his vehicle by the roadside, after which a passenger in the back got down and was seen trying to break open a drainage cover. After repeated attempts, they managed to remove the iron lid and left it broken and uncovered before fleeing the spot.
At first glance, it seemed like an attempt to steal the iron cover. However, the reality was worse – they abandoned the open drain as it was, creating a serious risk. Any pedestrian walking along the road at night could have fallen into it. Since the drain opening was small and square in shape, it could easily go unnoticed, leading to accidents.
The video was shared by the Instagram account “Dahisarkar” and has triggered strong reactions online. Many citizens demanded that the rickshaw be seized and destroyed. Some sarcastically commented that such people probably bribed the police with just ₹500 and walked free, while others furiously asked if there was any permanent solution to deal with such miscreants apart from symbolic punishments.
The incident has sparked widespread anger, with citizens calling for strict action against those who deliberately put lives at risk by such destructive behavior.
