Satara, August 31 – The much-awaited flower season at Kaas Plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage site near Satara, will officially begin on September 4, 2025. The decision was finalized during a meeting held at the District Collector’s office.

District Collector Santosh Patil chaired the review meeting where preparations for the season were discussed in detail. Key topics included traffic regulation, parking arrangements, and tourist facilities. Authorities are also considering implementing one-way traffic on approach roads to ease congestion, with a final decision expected after consultations with Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi.

Originally scheduled to start on September 1, the season’s opening was postponed due to heavy rainfall. With the weather now clear and the plateau’s famed flowers beginning to bloom, officials confirmed the revised date.

Online booking for visitors is already open, ensuring a regulated flow of tourists to protect the fragile ecosystem.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Conservator of Forests Amol Satpute, Divisional Forest Officer Reshma Vhotkare, engineers, police representatives, and members of the Kaas Plateau management committee.

Known as the “Valley of Flowers of Maharashtra,” Kaas Plateau attracts thousands of nature lovers each year during its short but spectacular blooming season.
