The stretch of nullah from Bhintade nagar to Sanskriti school ahead of Hills N Dales has posed life risk to many in the previous rainy season. Several cars have drowned in the nullah in the heavy rainfall that took place in the last few years. To prevent similar incidents it was necessary to raise the height of the nullah bridge as well as install some protective gear.

Pune Pulse in its edition dated May -1-7, 2022 published the plight faced by local residents. Pune Pulse further raised the issue with the Member of Legislative Assembly Sanjay Jagtap from Purandar Constituency who assured to help in the project.

Stressing the need to secure the area with tall structures over the bridge to curb dumping of waste and any vehicular accident, MLA Jagtap assured to complete the work as per the ground requirements.

Accordingly, a site visit to the place was held today, on May 21, 2022 in presence of Undri residents Sachin Punekar and Subhash Thite, Renuka Suryavanshi from Pune Pulse Newspaper and Public Works Department sectional engineer, Deven More who informed that the height of the bridge shall be raised and also the sides of the nullah will be beautified. The entire work would take atleast two weeks time to complete. But this whole area would be secured and safe for driving and also maintain the natural beauty.

Sachin Punekar, a resident of Undri said, “Indeed, if the bridge is strengthened it will add more aesthetic value as well as prevent any accidents. Work should start shortly after PWD and DPDC department approval is complete.”

Jagtap on the project said that the work shall start soon and shortly the area will retain its natural beauty.
