Kolhapur, September 13, 2025: With the Sharadiya Navratri festival approaching, preparations are in full swing at the Karveer Nivasini Shri Ambabai Temple. From Thursday, intensive temple cleaning has begun, carried out annually free of cost by Mumbai-based iSmart Fossetic Company. A 25-member team, equipped with advanced machinery, will conduct the cleaning work over the next eight days.

On Wednesday, September 17, the sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) will undergo deep cleaning. As a result, devotees will not be able to have darshan of the original idol of Goddess Ambabai on that day. Authorities have appealed to devotees to take note of this.

The iSmart company has been providing this cleaning service for free for the past 20 years. The team reached Kolhapur on Thursday morning, and machinery was worshipped in the presence of temple secretary Shivraj Naikwade and manager Mahadev Dinde before the work began.

Meanwhile, the temple donation counting, which began four days ago, has now been completed. In the past one and a half months, offerings worth ₹1.56 crore have been added to the temple’s treasury. The highest contribution — ₹44.68 lakh — was collected in donation box number two.
