Pune: Swargate Subway To Stay Shut From September 19 to 22
Pune, September 18, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that the Swargate subway, located near Volga Chowk and connecting towards Sarasbaug, will remain closed for maintenance work from September 19 to 22.
According to a statement issued by the PMC’s project department, the closure will begin at 11 pm on Friday, September 19, and the subway will reopen early on Monday, September 22.
Officials said the repair work will be carried out during night hours in order to minimise disruption for daily commuters.
The civic body has urged residents to plan their travel accordingly and make use of alternate routes, as Swargate Chowk is already one of Pune’s busiest traffic intersections.
The PMC has also appealed to motorists and pedestrians to cooperate during this period to avoid congestion around the area.
