Pune: 3rd Edition of the Gen SF Rodrigues Memorial Seminar Held
The 3rd Edition of the Gen SF Rodrigues Memorial Seminar was organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) at Pune on 19 September 2025. The seminar was held as a tribute to the late General SF Rodrigues, former Chief of the Army Staff.
The theme for this year’s edition was “Non-Contact Warfare: Capability Building Imperatives for the Indian Army.” The Keynote Address was delivered by Lt Gen Adosh Kumar, Director General Artillery, who underscored the growing salience of non-contact domains in modern conflict and highlighted the urgent need for the Indian Army to adapt to these evolving challenges.
The seminar featured three sub-sessions. The first session examined the spectrum of non-kinetic threats with an Indian operational focus. The second session translated global trends in non-contact kinetic warfare into actionable capability-building measures for the Indian Army. The final session facilitated a dynamic interaction with academia, reinforcing the value of intellectual synergy and knowledge exchange.

The deliberations collectively emphasised the necessity of an integrated, multi-domain approach to warfare, harnessing the full spectrum of Comprehensive National Power to address emerging security challenges.
The event was attended by Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, Chief of Staff, Southern Command, senior officers, industry representatives, academia, domain experts and veterans. Their insights and diverse experience enriched the discussions and contributed significantly to the success of the seminar.
