Pune, June 26, 2026: In a significant development in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, the victim’s father, Vishal Devichand Agarwal, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and sought swift justice for his son.

According to a letter submitted to the Chief Minister, Vishal Agarwal requested the state government to appoint senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor in the case registered at the Lonavala Grameen Police Station under FIR No. 0168 of 2026. The case pertains to the alleged murder of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal.

The application, dated June 25, 2026, states that Vishal Agarwal is the original complainant in the case and appealed for the government’s intervention to ensure an effective prosecution. The request specifically sought the appointment of Adv. Ujjwal Nikam to represent the prosecution during the trial.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured the bereaved family that the state government would take all necessary steps to ensure strict punishment for those found guilty. He also accepted the family’s demand for the case to be heard in a fast-track court.

The Chief Minister directed the Law and Justice Department to initiate the process of appointing senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor. According to the family, Nikam has agreed to take up the responsibility of conducting the prosecution.

A handwritten note on the family’s representation also indicates directions for a fast-track court and the appointment of Adv. Ujjwal Nikam, reflecting the government’s intent to expedite the legal proceedings.

Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Police have arrested his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary in connection with the case. The investigation is currently underway.
