Pune: PMPML To Open CNG Stations At Swargate, Nigdi, And Moshi Depots Soon
Pune, September 22, 2025: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has decided to set up Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations at three of its depots — Swargate, Nigdi, and Moshi — by the end of this month. These facilities will not only cater to PMPML’s buses but will also be accessible to the general public, officials confirmed.
Currently, PMPML operates 2,009 buses, of which around 1,500 run on CNG. The city has only 124 CNG pumps, while PMPML itself maintains five dedicated filling stations for its fleet, which has proven insufficient.
The new stations will help reduce the load on existing CNG pumps, ensure uninterrupted fuel supply for buses, and also support Pune’s green transport initiatives.
By installing CNG pumps at our depots, PMPML is not only ensuring smooth operations for the buses but also extending convenience to citizens who will be able to use these pumps.
