Watch Captain's Viral Remark: “You should stop asking this question…” – Suryakumar Yadav’s sharp take on the so-called Ind Vs Pak rivalry
India captain Suryakumar Yadav dismissed the idea of an India–Pakistan rivalry after a convincing Asia Cup win.
Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, put up a brilliant performance by defeating Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four match. India chased down Pakistan’s target of 172 runs in just 18.5 overs, winning by 6 wickets. This was India’s second victory against Pakistan in the tournament.
The star of the match was Abhishek Sharma, who scored a superb 74 runs. His 100-run partnership with Shubman Gill, along with Tilak Verma’s 30-run contribution, proved decisive in India’s win.
With this victory, India has climbed to the top of the Super Four points table, with a net run rate of 0.689. Bangladesh sits in second place, while Sri Lanka and Pakistan are yet to secure points.

After the match, Suryakumar Yadav addressed the press conference. When asked about the India–Pakistan rivalry, he responded sharply:
“Actually, I want to say one thing on this question—that you should stop asking about this ‘rivalry.’ Because, if two teams play 15–20 matches and the scoreline is 7–7 or 8–7, then it can be called a rivalry. But if the scoreline is 10–1 or 13–0—I don’t know the exact number—then it is no longer a rivalry.”
Suryakumar’s remark, delivered with a smile, quickly went viral. Cricket fans are calling it a witty yet accurate statement, pointing out India’s dominance in recent encounters with Pakistan.
The Super Four stage will continue with all four teams—India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh—facing each other once. The top two teams will then play the final.
