Pune, September 22, 2025 – Nyati Exotica Co-operative Housing Society Ltd., located near Anand Dighe Garden in Mohamadwadi, took a significant step towards sustainability with the inauguration of its 60 kW “Solar to Grid Project” today. The ceremony was held on September 22, 2025 at the society’s premises, Gloriosa Building, Mohammad Wadi, and witnessed by residents, society officials, and the esteemed Chief Guest, Pramod Bhangire.
Commodore Harshad Datar, Chairman of Nyati Exotica, highlighted the importance of adopting renewable energy in residential communities. He emphasized that the project not only reduces the society’s carbon footprint but also sets an example for other housing societies in Pune to embrace clean energy solutions. Col Harjeet Singh, Retd, Secretary of the society, spoke about the meticulous planning and teamwork involved in implementing the solar project, ensuring energy efficiency and long-term benefits for residents.
With an installed capacity of 60 KW, the project is expected to generate approximately 240 units of electricity per day, on a clear day, resulting in substantial savings for society, whose average daily consumption is around 230 units a day for its common areas. This installation is also expected to reduce around 83 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, a significant reduction in greenhouse gas, thereby promoting environmental health.
The inauguration ceremony included a ribbon-cutting event, followed by a detailed presentation on how the solar energy generated will be fed into the grid, contributing to sustainable energy usage. Residents expressed excitement and pride in the society’s efforts to support environmental conservation.
