Pune Fire Brigade Urges Citizens And Establishments To Submit Fire Safety Compliance Certificates
Pune, September 29, 2025 : The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Fire Brigade has issued a public appeal to all citizens and establishments within its jurisdiction, including high-rise residential buildings, cinema halls, theatres, hospitals, educational institutions, commercial complexes, malls, star hotels, and large offices, to ensure fire safety measures are in place and operational.
As per Section 3, Sub-Section (1) of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, building owners must maintain their installed fire safety systems in proper working condition.
They are required to submit a compliance certificate (Form B), issued by a licensed agency, to the Chief Fire Officer twice a year – in January and July – at the Central Fire Station, Mahatma Phule Peth, New Timber Market, Pune-411042.
The Fire Brigade has cautioned that failure to submit Form B within the prescribed time, or negligence in maintaining fire safety equipment, will make the building owner or occupant solely responsible in case of any mishap.
The list of licensed agencies is available on maharashtrafireservice.gov.in. Buildings without the required fire safety systems must immediately install them through approved agencies and submit the compliance certificate within the deadline either to the fire department’s office or via email at [email protected].
Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode has appealed to citizens to ensure their fire safety equipment remains functional at all times to prevent loss of life and property, and to extend full cooperation to the Pune Fire Brigade.
