Pune: Young Woman Beaten by Man in Public, Video Goes Viral During Navratri Festivities
As Pune celebrates Navratri with vibrant lights and devotion, a disturbing incident has cast a dark shadow on the festivities. A viral video circulating on social media shows a young woman being brutally assaulted by a man in full public view on a busy city road.
The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday night along the K.K. Market–Chavan Nagar stretch, an area usually bustling with activity. In the clip, the man can be seen repeatedly hitting and kicking the woman, while passersby appear shocked. The visuals have triggered widespread anger online, with many demanding immediate police action.
Surprisingly, despite the video’s circulation, no complaint has yet been lodged by the woman or any eyewitnesses.

Senior Inspector S. Chavan of Sahakarnagar Police Station confirmed that the matter is under investigation. “We have received the video showing a man assaulting a young woman on the road. So far, no official complaint has been filed. Our team has initiated a probe into the incident,” she said.
The motive behind the assault and the identities of those involved remain unknown. Pune Pulse has not independently verified the authenticity of the video or the sequence of events depicted.
