Pune: PMC Commissioner Inspects Balbharati–Paud Road, Focuses on Road Alignment and Eco-Friendly Development
Pune, October 20, 2025: Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram conducted an on-site inspection of the Balbharati–Paud Road project on Sunday, accompanied by senior officials from the civic body’s Road Department. The inspection aimed to assess road alignment, evaluate site conditions, and review the proposed elevated road sections.
Present during the visit were Chief Engineer Aniruddha Pavaskar, Superintendent Engineer Abhijit Ambekar, Executive Engineer Purushottam Bhutada, Deputy Engineer Shailesh Wagholekar, Chief Garden Superintendent Ashok Ghorpade, and Ward Officer Vijay Naykal.
During the review, Commissioner Ram directed officials to fast-track the process of securing Environmental Clearance (EC) and initiate necessary steps without delay. He emphasized timely execution of the project, stating that the new road will help ease traffic congestion in surrounding areas.
Reinforcing the civic body’s commitment to environmental sustainability, Ram also launched a tree plantation drive by planting saplings on municipal land. Following his lead, other department officials joined the initiative, pledging large-scale plantation efforts. The Commissioner urged that native and rare tree species be prioritized to promote ecological balance and enhance green cover across the project zone.
