Rohit Sharma Becomes Second-Oldest Indian to Score ODI Century, Breaks Multiple Records in Australia
Rohit joins Sachin Tendulkar in elite list as India clinch dominant win over Australia in Sydney
India defeated Australia convincingly in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, October 25, chasing down 237 runs in just 38.3 overs with nine wickets in hand. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with a masterful unbeaten 121 off 105 balls — his 33rd ODI century — guiding India to a clinical victory.
With this knock, Rohit Sharma became the second-oldest Indian cricketer to score a century in Men’s ODIs. He achieved the feat at 38, trailing only Sachin Tendulkar, who scored his 100th international hundred against Bangladesh in 2012 at the age of 38 years and 327 days.
Globally, the record for the oldest ODI centurion remains with Khurram Khan of the UAE, who scored a century at 43 years and 162 days.
